A holiday promotional campaign for Barbadian tourism has been launched to entice visitors to explore the island’s beauty and warmth by offering exclusive digital credits.

As the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) seeks to lure more visitors here next year during the usual slump that follows the end of the winter tourist season on April 15, it launched the ‘Feels Like Summer’ campaign in collaboration with Book Barbados, an online travel and destination management company that offers a one-stop-shop for visitors to book their trip experience.

“What makes a vacation memorable is the experiences that create lasting memories and emotional attachments,” said BTMI in a statement. “The unforgettable trips that are constantly in your daydreams and evoke different feelings. These are all feelings you can find on a vacation to Barbados.”

According to the BTMI release, The campaign aims to encapsulate a range of emotions associated with a blissful paradise. It aspires to inspire different types of travellers to choose Barbados as their destination, allowing them to immerse themselves in the various emotions a summer getaway can evoke.

The campaign’s booking window is scheduled to open from Boxing Day until February 6. Registration for the digital credits continues until March 31. The travel window extends from April 16 to September 30. Blackout dates apply from June 4-30 and July 29-August 11, the BTMI said.

To be eligible for the promotion, travellers must be 18 years and older, hold a valid reservation at a participating property, and book a minimum stay of seven nights, according to the tourism promotion agency.

The offer extends to approved travellers meeting the stipulated requirements. Those staying for 11 or more nights can receive up to $400 in digital credits, while those with a stay of 7-10 nights can enjoy up to $300.

Redeemable exclusively through the BookBarbados Trip Planner, the digital credits can be used at participating “experiences, shopping and food establishments”, said BTMI. They are issued in denominations of up to $100 each. Approved travellers are entitled to claim one digital credit per participating business. No refunds or cash equivalents will be provided.
