Barbados Water Authority crews are making steady progress as they continue repairs at the Hampton Pumping Station in St Philip.

In the latest update, Senior Engineer Hector Marshall disclosed that the damaged pump was removed to make way for the installation of the new infrastructure.

He added the station is currently online at 75 per cent production even as the crews work to replace the well pump, electrical cable and rising main.

However, the BWA has advised residents in the connected catchment area, which includes sections of St Joseph, St Philip and Christ Church, that their pipe-borne supply will be intermittent while the work is being conducted.

The BWA also urged customers to store an adequate amount of water for their households to help during this period and assured that its Water Tanker team will also continue to assist residents in the districts impacted, in the interim.
