In a graduation ceremony hosted at O2 Beach Club & Spa in Dover, Christ Church, 38 young professionals marked the successful conclusion of their internship. The interns came from the Jean and Norma Holder Hospitality Institute of the Barbados Community College, the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology, the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, and Top Shelf Bar Academy. The internship, a brief but comprehensive programme, provided students with insights into various aspects of the current hospitality environment, according to Patricia Affonso-Dass, CEO and group general manager of Ocean Hotels Group. She congratulated the graduates, commending them for their dedication and the experience gained. “I’m delighted to introduce 38 graduates who have showcased their expertise across various roles within our organisations – 12 at O2 Beach Club and Spa, 14 at Sea Breeze Beach House, three at our Ocean Hotel Corporate Office, and nine at Chickmont Foods Ltd,” Affonso-Dass said. “We are very proud of you, and you should be extremely proud of yourselves. Addressing the interns directly, she added: “Congratulations on achieving this significant milestone in your journey.
