BACA, which promotes and supports the vibrant artistic community in Barbados, recently held their bi-annual elections at which Charles Lewis was elected to the post as president, taking over from veteran calypsonian Colin Spencer. Speaking to members after the election, Lewis expressed enthusiasm about the team. “I am honoured to lead this exceptional group of individuals. Together, we are dedicated to empowering artists, fostering creativity and enriching the cultural landscape of Barbados,” he said. Other members of the new executive team include Sean Carter, vice-president; Cleve Scott, secretary; Colin Spencer, treasurer; Danecia Cockrell, assistant secretary/treasurer; and Barry Knight, public relations officer. Merle Niles, Jason Morris and Charlotte Thomas have been added to the team as floor members.
