As CIBC Caribbean celebrated its rebranding recently, two entities also had cause for cheer as the bank donated a total of $425 000 to support their vital work.

The bank, through its charitable arm, the FirstCaribbean International ComTrust Foundation, donated $175 000 to the Barbados Defence Forceโ€™s Field Hospital to purchase a generator, which will assist with hospitalโ€™s readiness for deployment in response to disasters.

The other entity, the Caribbean Science Foundation was presented with $250 000 to support programmes targeted mainly at the regionโ€™s youth. These include the Student Programme for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE), Caribbean STEM Olympiads, Barbados Junior Robotics Camps and the Caribbean Computer Coding Workshops.

The donations took place during a ceremony marking the rebranding of the bank from CIBC FirstCaribbean to CIBC Caribbean last Friday at their regional headquarters in Warrens, St Michael.
