In an audio statement, Best said that while there is no confirmation that the funnel cloud has actually touched the ground, he is encouraging persons to remain vigilant. He continued: “Especially residents in St Michael, St James, St Thomas and St George, as funnel cloud activity is possible throughout the day. This is not a confirmation that there will be tornado activity, this is only confirmation that there is funnel cloud activity, and we want the public to be very vigilant throughout the course of this afternoon.” The public is encouraged to monitor the BMS, DEM and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further updates.
