The airline confirmed to Barbados TODAY that the technical issue led to a precautionary shutdown of one of the planeโs engines, but the aircraft landed safely and passengers were being accommodated on another flight. Flight tracking data showed the plane, which departed at 1:15 p.m. for the Grantley Adams International Airport, making several loops just east of Dominica before returning to the airport. โThe incident occurred minutes after takeoff when the pilot detected an anomaly in one of the aircraftโs engines,โ interCaribbean said in a statement. โAdhering to our standard operating protocols, the captain shut down the affected engine as a precautionary measure and returned to Marigot where the aircraft landed without further incident.
