The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has opened additional space within its Accident and Emergency Department (AED).
The QEH says the opening marks an important milestone in its ongoing journey to enhance health-care services for the community.
A statement from the hospital on Sunday said as it expands capacity to better serve patients, it recognizes that this is just one step in a larger effort to address the evolving needs of the population.
Chief Executive Officer Neil Clark emphasises the QEH’s “commitment to collaborating with partners and patients to optimise patient care pathways and ensure individuals receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time”.
The QEH says it remains dedicated to its mission, “To provide professional and effective patient-centred care through the optimal use of our human and capital resources.”
Also of note, the original entrance to the department has been reopened. The temporary entrance in the Ambulance Yard is now closed and reverts to normal operations.
