Kickstart Rush and Wotton FC both recorded victories when the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League continued at the Wildey AstroTurf on Tuesday night.

A barrage of first half goals by Kickstart gave them a comfortable 3-1 win over the lowly Barbados Soccer Academy (BSA).

However, Wotton needed Khalil Gill’s late strike to overcome Ellerton 2-1 in the nightcap game.

In the opening game, Kickstart rushed out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Nathan McCollin in the 15th minute, Reymar Walters in the 27th and Carl Hinksom’s 35th minute strike.

BSA, who currently sit bottom-of-the-table with just one win from their 11 games, got on the scoresheet when Alrick Gayla netted in the 51st minute.

The win carried Kickstart within three points of leaders Weymouth Wales and UWI Blackbirds, who both have 29 points.

Meanwhile, Ellerton looked on course for a rare victory this season when Shaquan Collymore gave them a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

It was not to be though, as T’Shane Lorde leveled the score in the 65th minute, before Gill netted five minutes before the end of regulation to give Wotton a much-needed three points.

The defeat left Ellerton just two points above the relegation zone on 10 points, while Wotton remained in fifth place on 18 points, three points behind fourth-placed Paradise FC.
