King’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim and attorney Sian Lange, who represent Bynoe, and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale SC are expected to make their sentencing submissions in the High Court regarding the convicted killer. Bynoe, formerly of Headley’s Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, was found guilty of the murder of Nikita Belgrave, Pearl Cornelius, Shanna Griffith, Tiffany Harding, Kellishaw Ollivierre and Kelly-Ann Welch who died in the Campus Trendz blaze on September 3, 2010. After he had been convicted and sentenced to hang, Bynoe appealed the decision. While the conviction was upheld by the Court of Appeal, it ruled that since the island had abolished its mandatory death sentence for murder convictions, the sentence would have to be vacated and Bynoe would have to be re-sentenced by the High Court judge who presided over the trial.
