Shirley Chisholm are once again queens of the National Sports Council’s Primary Schools netball competition after romping to victory today in the final at the Wildey Gymnasium. A Christ Church derby between two of the best schools in this year’s tournament devolved into a lopsided affair. 2022 and 2023 winners Shirley Chisholm defeated Christ Church girls 21-9 to successfully defend their title, and assert dominance in Zone 7. Shirley Chisholm’s victory was spearheaded by goal attack Janai Harvey, who converted 12 goals from 15 attempts. A talented track athlete as well, Harvey was the Under-13 girls 100m champion at the National Primary Schools Athletics Championships earlier this year at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex. On the court, Harvey was assisted by the brilliance of goal shooter Rimiya Wilson, who registered a perfect record of nine from nine.
