Worrell, the acting president of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) who previously served in the Senate between 2013-2018, was officially sworn in by acting President Very Reverend Jeffrey Gibson at State House, in the presence of Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne, Senator Ryan Walters and other guests. Worrell replaces Senator Tricia Watson who was appointed on February 13. Senator Watson has indicated that she was not notified about her removal.
