Today, several people paid their respects at her viewing at the Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Passage Road. Dame Maizie, who died on August 28 at age 96, was a trailblazer in politics and women’s rights. She led the National Organisation of Women and represented Barbados on several international bodies, including the Inter-American Commission of Women. The service of thanksgiving for her life will be held tomorrow at the Abundant Life Assembly at 1 p.m., with tributes beginning at 12:15 pm.
