General Secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union Toni Moore issued this challenge as she addressed attendees at the โWorkplace Wellness In Action Forumโ held at Solidarity House this morning. Moore said while health should always be a vital area of focus for workers and management, equal importance must be accorded to wellness in the workplace. โWhen the Barbados Workersโ Union conceptualised the need for a wellness programme, we understood that more than health, wellness had to be prioritised. We understood that beyond the distinction between health and wellness, the implementation of wellness would require a reorientation – a culture shift – to how we interacted in the world place as employers and employees,โ she said.
