Lovell died when the electric bicycle he was riding collided with a flatbed truck around 4:15 p.m. Acting Communications and Public Affairs Officer with the Barbados Police Service, Sergeant Liesl Gabriel, told reporters at the scene: “The motor truck was travelling towards Wildey while the rider of the electric bicycle was travelling towards Sheraton Centre. On reaching a point in the road, he overtook two stationary taxis, encroached the path of the oncoming truck, and collided with the front right side of the truck. A medical doctor pronounced death.” The victim was formally identified by his family. Investigations are ongoing.
