In line with its commitment to advancing education, Quickstop celebrated its grand opening by donating to the Arthur Smith Primary School to retrofit a reading room — a project facilitated by the Optimist Club of Bridgetown. Principal John Quinton welcomed the donation, emphasizing the positive impact a dedicated reading space will have on students. “Investing in a room that is different will at least seduce them. They will want to come down there and they will want to sit in the room and now, adding the technology to it, it will give them the incentivisation to want to read.” Senior Director of Operations, Shamira Young reaffirmed Quickstop’s dedication to community growth, emphasising the vital role of education in driving lasting impact. “Working in the community is key for us. Being able to build lasting relationships has always been our passion. Selecting the Optimist group is important to us because they work with kids, and what they are trying to accomplish is what makes it monumental. They are trying to bringing a different aspect, similar to Quickstop within Barbados — being able to advocate for the social development of kids, not only in education and testing.” (PR) Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
