Police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old man on Friday night at Advent Avenue, Bank Hall, St. Michael.

A report was made at around 10:52 pm, and, upon investigation, the body was discovered perched motionless on a branch in a breadfruit tree. It was later identified as that of Andrew John from Manning Land, a neighbouring village.

The initial report was of a power line sparking and a tree burning. Police attached to the District A Station had contacted the Barbados Fire Service and the Barbados Light and Power Company for assistance.

The body was found on arrival and was lowered by fire service personnel with the assistance of personnel from Crane and Equipment. A medical doctor examined the body and pronounced death.

The body was identified by a relative. (BT)
