Painter remanded on gun, assault charges

A 38-year old painter has been charged with gun and ammunition possession as well as resisting and assaulting a police officer.

 

Oneal Clavis Nile Hinds, of Howells Cross Road, St Michael, was remanded to Dodds Prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Graveney Bannister in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

 

Hinds is charged with possessing a firearm without a valid licence and one round of ammunition without a valid permit on March 24.

 

He is also accused of assaulting and resisting Sergeant Dario Griffith in the execution of his duty and using abusive language towards the officer, “I don’t give a **** about you or none ah wunna. I do jail already. Wunna could ******** charge me. I don’t give a ****”, on the same day.

 

Hinds will return to court on April 28.
