This decision follows a rise in respiratory illnesses across Barbados, including Influenza A (H1N1), common cold viruses, seasonal flu A (H3N2), and isolated COVID-19 cases. To protect patients and staff, visitors must wear a face mask while in clinical spaces. The public is also encouraged to practise hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and consider the seasonal flu vaccine, especially those with chronic conditions.
