Lawmen said they received a report of gunfire at Downhill Drive, Eden Lodge, around 11:58 p.m. Several mobile units were dispatched to the scene, where the motionless body of a male was found lying outside a residence. Ambulance personnel who responded found no signs of life, and a medical doctor later arrived and officially pronounced the man dead. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, a resident of Block 20E, Downhill Drive, was walking home when he was approached by an assailant and shot multiple times. He died at the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.
