During a brief handover ceremony on Monday, SSA Public Relations Officer Carl Padmore said the vehicles will improve service in urban corridors, particularly on narrow roads that have posed access challenges in the past. Trustee Peter Symmonds said the trucks are part of the Trustโs wider effort to support environmental protection. โ[This] is more than just a simple donation. It signifies another step towards building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Barbados,โ he said, noting his hope that the trucks will help tackle the scourge of illegal dumping and reduce the garbage build-up across the island.ย Symmonds urged Barbadians to dispose of waste properly and called for stronger enforcement to keep roads clear for the collection vehicles. He also encouraged plans for waste separation, describing it as essential for the future.
