After denying their charges, a man and a woman accused in separate assault cases will reappear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court No. 2 in January.

Hakeem Daron Anthony Small of Jackson, St Michael denied that on July 18, he assaulted Nickyara Darlington, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

The 30-year-old cook was placed on $1 500 bail and warned by Magistrate Manila Renee not to trespass on the complainant’s property and not to go within 50 meters of Darlington.

Meanwhile, 44-year-old scuba diving instructor Summerrain Heal of College Savannah, St John, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting Dawn Cole, occasioning her actual bodily harm on July 9.

Heal, who was represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, was released on $1 500 bail after the prosecutor made no objections.

The matters were adjourned until January 9.
