In 2022, campus officer of Alumni Relations, Sandra Griffith-Carrington, proposed the establishment of the Endowment Fund to help ensure that deserving students are not denied the opportunity to achieve their educational dreams due to financial hardship. Many of these students have already overcome significant obstacles in life, and the fund was created to help remove one more barrier on their journey to success. The fund was officially launched through a live Social Mediathon event under the patronage of Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda Sir Rodney Williams, and President of Barbados the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason. The event raised US$30 000 to kickstart the initiative. ANSA McAL Barbados said it was honoured to contribute to this meaningful cause, adding that the donation reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to education, community development, and youth empowerment across the region. “Our youth are our future, and we believe that by investing in their education today, we are building a stronger, more resilient Caribbean for tomorrow,” said Head of Marketing at ANSA McAL Barbados Rachel Pilgrim. Sandra Griffith-Carrington, in thanking ANSA McAL, said, “No gift is too small as together we seek to positively build the capacity of the nations in our region.” (PR) You Might Be Interested In Year-long We Gatherin’ initiative begins Landmark partnership to build national AI ecosystem Sickout draws CTUSAB backing, youth concern Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
