The occasion, which also saw the installation of eight prefects, was guided by the schoolโs theme for the year, Nothing is impossible with God. ย Principal Emelda Bell, in addressing the gathering, reminded those present of the schoolโs achievements over the years. ย Reflecting on the schoolโs mission, Bell said Ann Hill continues to build โa foundation of integrity, a love for learning, discipline, teamwork, and resilience among our studentsโ, while encouraging them to pursue excellence and to develop values that will shape them into โwell-rounded citizens of Barbados.โ ย You Might Be Interested In Anglican Church greatly concerned about Education Ministry’s survey controversy School unveils mural and sensory garden Gordon Greenidge School closed tomorrow The principal also expressed gratitude to teachers and parents for their ongoing support. ย โTeachers, I applaud you for your dedication, for your hard work, your care, and your love for our students. ย โParents, continue to support them, challenge them, advocate for them, and help them to be the best versions of themselves,โ Bell said. ย Guest speaker, Reverend Kenroy Marshall, project accountant in the Ministry of Educational Transformation, urged the students and new prefects to โbe the changeโ within their school. ย He also reminded them that leadership begins with kindness. ย โEven as a leader, all eyes are on me, so I want to ensure that I do what is right. ย โYou can be a champion of kindness. It doesnโt take anything off of anybody to be kind. If your friend doesnโt have a pencil or lunch and you have extra, share it. That is being kind,โ Marshall said. ย He also challenged the new prefects to use their influence positively. ย โYou are not only enforcers of the rules, but you are also a bridge between your teachers and your peers,โ he said. โDonโt wait for the change to start, but you be the spark that starts the change.โ ย The ceremony ended in prayer and celebration, as students proudly pledged to uphold their schoolโs motto and to walk confidently in faith, knowing that indeed, nothing is impossible with God.
