The Central Bank of Barbados is warning the public about a fraudulent website that is falsely using branding similar to the Bank and attempting to solicit payments from individuals.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the Bank said the website bimpayer.proย is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and engage in fraudulent activity. It urged people not to visit the site, make payments, or share any personal or financial information. The Central Bank stressed that it does not request money or payments from members of the public.

Officials reminded the public that the only official website for the national instant payment system isย www.bimpay.bb, which can also be accessed through the Bankโ€™s main website atย www.centralbank.org.bb. Any other site claiming affiliation with the Central Bank or BiMPay should be treated with extreme caution.

Members of the public who have already provided information or made payments through the fraudulent site are being urged to report the matter to the Barbados Police Service and to contact the Central Bankโ€™s Corporate Communications Unit for guidance.
