The incident occurred around 12:45 pm on June 13, according to police. Officers said initial investigations indicate that a Barbadian-registered vessel was travelling from Bridgetown towards Speightstown when the collision took place involving a male snorkeler in the area. Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later died.
