The calls reportedly originated from numbers with a Pakistani country code (+92). Please note that these calls did not originate from the Central Bank of Barbados. The bank will not make unsolicited calls to anyone about BiMPay. More broadly, we strongly encourage persons not to share sensitive information such as passwords, PINs, or security codes with anyone who contacts you. If you have already shared sensitive information with someone claiming to represent the bank or BiMPay, please contact your financial institution immediately using verified channels and take steps to secure your account, such as changing your passwords or PINs. We also encourage members of the public who receive a suspicious call of this nature to report it, where appropriate, to The Barbados Police Service.
