(Photo credit: Barbados Olympic Association) FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 771 The Barbadian squash delegation at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic has delivered a second gold medal. Playing in the final of the women’s team competition, Barbados defied the loss of Amanda Haywood due to injury to defeat Colombia 2-1. Haywood sustained a leg injury earlier in the day during the semifinal victory over Mexico and was forced to forfeit her match in the final, which handed Colombia a critical 1-0 lead. However, women’s singles gold medallist Margot Prow and silver Meagan Best won their matches as Barbados completed a come-from-behind win. Earlier, the men’s team won bronze after being defeated by Colombia in the semis. Those results meant Barbadian squash players finished the games with a total of four medals: two gold, one silver and one bronze.
