There are currently no tropical storm watches or warnings in effect for the island, the Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) said in a bulletin issued on Wednesdau afternoon. However, the system could bring hotter conditions, afternoon showers and thunderstorms to some areas as wind speeds decrease on Friday and Saturday. At 2 p.m. Wednesday, the wave was located about 1,338 miles (2,156km) east of Barbados. It is associated with a broad area of low pressure producing disorganised thunderstorms. The BMS said environmental conditions are marginally favourable for some slow development as the system moves west to west-northwest over the next few days. Most of the activity is expected to remain north of the island. The BMS will provide its next update at 11 a.m. Thursday.
