CAC double gold medallist Margot Prow and Eboni Atherley faced Colombia’s Laura Tovar and Maria Tovar. After losing the opening game 7-11, the Barbadians levelled the match with an 11-8 win in the second. However, Prow and Atherley narrowly lost the deciding game 8-11. In mixed doubles, CAC Games medallists Meagan Best and Khamal Cumberbatch faced Argentina’s Segundo Portabales and Paula Rivero in another closely contested encounter. The Argentinians took the first game 11-8, but Best and Cumberbatch fought back to edge the second 11-10. The Barbadian pair ultimately lost the match after going down 8-11 in the decisive third game. During Sunday’s singles action, Prow lost her quarter-final encounter against number two seed Marina Stefanoni of the United States 6-11, 1-11, 7-11. Team competition serves off on Thursday.
