All-rounder Dwayne Bravo and commentator Ian Bishop have been named the inaugural inductees into the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League Hall of Fame.

The pair will be honoured at the Hall of Fame Gala Dinner in Barbados on September 15.

Bravo becomes the first player inducted, while Bishop is being recognised in the non-player category for his contribution to the tournament since its launch in 2013.

โ€œItโ€™s a real honour to be the first player inducted into the CPL Hall of Fame. This tournament has been a huge part ofmy career, and I will always treasure every title Iโ€™ve won here,โ€ Bravo said.

โ€œIโ€™ve played cricket all over the world, but thereโ€™s nothing like playing at home. CPL is a true celebration of Caribbean culture and the game I love.โ€

Bravo is the tournamentโ€™s third-highest wicket-taker with 129 wickets and its most decorated player.

He won five titles as a player, lifting the trophy with Trinbago Knight Riders in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020, and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2021. Bravo added a sixth title as head coach when he guided the Knight Riders to victory in 2025.

Bishop was equally grateful for the recognition.

โ€œCricket has given me so much, and commentary has allowed me to give something back to a game and a region I love deeply. To be inducted into this inaugural CPL Hall of Fame class, and to be recognised for the stories Iโ€™ve had the privilege of telling, is an honour Iโ€™ll carry with me always.

โ€œThis tournament has always represented something bigger than the sport itself, itโ€™s a stage for Caribbean talent, culture and pride, and Iโ€™m grateful to have had a courtside seat to its history.โ€

Proceeds from the gala will go to the Sir Clive Lloyd Healthcare Foundation to support its work raising awareness and improving prostate cancer testing across the Caribbean.

CPL Chief Executive Officer Pete Russell said Bravo and Bishop have been central to the tournamentโ€™s story since its inception, describing Bravo as one of its greatest match-winners and Bishop as the voice who has brought that story to fans around the world.

The CPL Hall of Fame will become an annual celebration, with future inductees announced ahead of each tournament.
