The Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA) has launched a new championship trophy as it moves to concentrate the regionโ€™s major regattas into a four-month racing season.

The CSA Majors Trophy will recognise the top overall performance across the RORC Nelsonโ€™s Cup Series, RORC Caribbean 600, St Maarten Heineken Regatta, Antigua Racing Cup and BVI Spring Regatta, where the champion will be crowned.

The announcement came as the CSA unveiled its updated five-year regatta calendar covering 2027 to 2031, designed to reduce scheduling conflicts and encourage teams to compete across multiple Caribbean events.

Barbados Sailing Week remains on the calendar throughout the five-year period, staged annually in January.

CSA President Bastien Poutier said the revised schedule would provide a clearer circuit for competitive teams.

โ€œThis calendar delivers clarity and momentum for our sport,โ€ he said. โ€œConcentrating our marquee events into a four-month window creates a true circuit for serious campaigners โ€” without losing the adventurous spirit that defines Caribbean racing.โ€

Under the revised calendar, the St Maarten Heineken Regatta remains a major fixture, while the Antigua Racing Cup moves to earlier dates.

The new CSA Majors Trophy joins the Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy and Travellers Trophy in recognising boats that compete across the regional circuit.

The CSA said the changes are intended to maximise participation and strengthen the Caribbeanโ€™s position as an international sailing destination.
