Maloney defeated Dane Skeete by eight-tenths of a second in the first run from Kendal in St John to Ellesmere in St George, but Skeete pipped Maloney to the post by just eight-hundredths in the reverse run. Forty-six cars contested the seventh and eighth rounds of the BRC Driver’s & Class Championship, while producing some standout performances. Among them was top two-wheel-drive finisher Mark-Anthony Hinkson, who finished inside the top 10 in both directions. Before the competition began, a minute’s silence was observed in the service area at Colleton Plantation Yard, St John, in memory of Dave Crawford, former Motoring Club Barbados Inc chairman Glyne Greaves and Harold ‘Doc’ Morley, who died in recent weeks. At the finish, Maloney said: “I know I have the ability and I just have to make sure my head is clear. I know it’s not luck. Unfortunately Stuart (Maloney) had power steering issues in the morning, as I’m sure he would have been much closer but the day was impeccable for me.” Results: You Might Be Interested In Pybus returns Holder is number two Ferdinand on the mend 2026 BRC Driver’s & Class Championships, round 7 1st Mark Maloney (FIA R5 M-Jet FBO/Imagine Developments/Bushy Park Barbados Skoda Fabia RS Rally2), 2m 26.63s 2nd Dane Skeete (WRC Automotive Art/C O Williams Sand & Lime/Sol Subaru Impreza WRC S12), + 00.82s 3rd Kyle Gregg – JAM (FIA R5 York Investments/B D Gregg/ACE K9 Security Services Ford Fiesta Rally2), + 01.13s 4th Josh Read (FIA R5 Servall Inc/Stihl/Fig Products/H & B Hardware/Hankook Batteries/Weetabix Ford Fiesta Rally2), + 01.34s 5th Mark Thompson (FIA R5 Glassesco/King Ocean Shipping/NKM Clothing/Bio-Beauty Day Spa Citroen C3 Rally2), + 01.82s 6th Stuart Maloney (FIA R5 VP Fuels/Bushy Park Barbados/Maloney Racing Skoda Fabia RS Rally2), + 02.50s 7th David Husbands (FIA R5 Promix Concrete Ford Fiesta R5), + 08.26s 8th Brian Gill (FIA R5 GO Rent a Car/Coca–Cola/Two Stacks Irish Whiskey Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo), + 08.89s 9th Kurt Thompson (M4 Glassesco/King Ocean Shipping/NKM Clothing/Bio-Beauty Day Spa Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX), + 09.19s 10th Mark-Anthony Hinkson (SM2 Beyond Limits Fitness Centre/Structural Systems/Movements Plus/Williams Industries/Williams Equipment/AGS Airconditioning Services/Williams Metals BMW M3), + 10.43s Results: 2026 BRC Driver’s & Class Championships, round 8 1st Skeete, 2:24.34 2nd M Maloney, + 00.08s 3rd S Maloney, + 00.70s 4th Read, + 02.07s 5th Gregg – JAM, + 02.59s 6th M Thompson, + 04.55s 7th B Gill, + 06.01s 8th K Thompson, + 06.23s 9th Hinkson, + 06.24s 10th Husbands, + 08.26s (KH/PR) Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
