The tour will begin on October 27 in the Bahamas, one of 14 countries outside the United Kingdom where Charles is head of state. He will then travel to Guyana for a state visit marking 60 years of bilateral relations between Britain and the South American nation. The King will also travel to Antigua and Barbuda, where Commonwealth leaders will meet from November 1 in St Johnโs. Charles is the symbolic head of the Commonwealth, an association of 56 independent countries, many of which have historical ties to Britain. Commonwealth heads of government meet every two years to discuss shared challenges, strengthen cooperation and promote development.
