Smoke from Hoytes fire prompts health warning

Residents in and around Hoytes Village, St James, are being urged to take precautions as smoke from a fire at a metal dump affects the surrounding area.
Emergency crews are working to contain the blaze, while the Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised people with asthma and other respiratory conditions to avoid the area where possible and keep windows and doors closed if smoke is affecting their homes.
Anyone who develops difficulty breathing, chest discomfort, dizziness or nausea after being exposed to the smoke is advised to seek medical attention. (MHW)
