Voluntary recall of specific batches of Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch

GraceKennedy Foods (GK Foods) is voluntarily recalling specific batches of Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch one litre distributed in Barbados and a number of other countries.

The affected product bears either of the following best-before (BB) codes on the top of the package: BB JUL 21 27 L6 and BB JUL 22 27 L6.

The company said in a statement the voluntary recall is limited to the affected batches and markets identified and does not apply to any other batches of Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch 1L or to products distributed in other markets.

It explained that based on the assessments conducted and information available to date, the matter is considered a product-quality issue rather than a food-safety concern.

Further, it stated that no adverse health effects are expected from consumption of the affected product, and GK Foods has received no reports of illness or other adverse health effects associated with its consumption.

CEO of GraceKennedy Foods Andrea Coy stated, “The quality of our products and the trust consumers place in Grace are extremely important to us. While this is primarily a quality issue, we are voluntarily recalling the affected batches as a precaution and to ensure that the products

available to our consumers continue to meet the standards they expect from Grace.”

She continued, “We are working closely with our distributors and retail partners across the affected markets to remove the product as quickly as possible and sincerely apologise to our consumers and customers for the inconvenience this may cause.”

Consumers in the affected markets who have Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch one litre bearing either of the identified codes are advised not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement. (PR)
