In its commitment to keep the country connected, Flow Barbados has collaborated with the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) to boost the broadband experience of teachers who are Flow customers with enhanced internet services during this unprecedented and critical period of the next three months.

“We’re #InThisTogether and we are aware that for most teachers it’s the very first time they are teaching and delivering their curriculum online and we want to give back to the teaching community by providing them with the right tools needed during these challenging circumstances,” stated Marilyn Sealy, Senior Manager, Communications Flow Southern Caribbean.

She added, ‘for those teachers who are Flow customers we upgraded their internet services at home, provided them with backup power supply in the form of UPS as well as increased data to others on their mobile phones.’

“While things aren’t quite back to normal we should not forget that the hurricane season is almost here and officials have predicted that it will be an active one. Therefore, the gifting of the uninterrupted power supply will certainly assist teachers in the event that there is a power outage, giving them a couple additional hours to support their Flow landline and internet services during a storm,” Sealy stated.

General Secretary of the BUT, Herbert Gittens said he is happy that Flow thought about the t the teachers.

“Our teachers have been going above and beyond the call of duty in providing high quality education via the online platform. I know many of them have had issues with their internet connections due to the fact that so many persons are still working from home at this time. We are therefore pleased that Flow has come the aid of the teachers,” he said.

While providing relief to teachers Flow Barbados is also currently offering a digital relief plan, with no contract, for unconnected students that includes dedicated high-speed internet with 60 Mbps.

In addition, the company is offering mobile connectivity with a special plan tailored just for them that includes ample data to facilitate their studies while on the go.

These offers have been made available to complement the company’s recent zero rating of more than 50 educational websites to assist thousands of primary, secondary and tertiary students.
