Police were called to the area of the Harbour Lights just after 3 p.m. today. Police said an elderly man, accompanied by his wife, was reportedly in the water with a floatation device when he got into difficulties and started coughing and swallowing water. He was helped out of the water and onto the sand when he collapsed. A lifeguard on duty along with a medical doctor who happened to be at the beach performed CPR until the ambulance personnel arrived. No sign of life was found by the EMT. A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced death. The victim was later identified as 72-year-old Colis Elon Holder of #33 Parkinson Field, St. Michael.
