Two cases being heard before Justice Randall Worrell will continue in the High Court this week.

The murder trial of Conroy Ramsay resumed on Wednesday with arguments in the absence of the jury.

Those submissions by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Donna Babb-Agard Q.C. and defence attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens are expected to continue before Justice Randall Worrell on Friday, with jurors expected to return to continue to hear evidence next Monday.

Ramsay is being tried in the No. 2 Supreme Court for killing 24-year-old Kimberley Hinds, the mother of his child, on March 17, 2013. Her naked body was discovered on the living room floor of her Rock Hall, St Thomas residence.

The DPP, who is prosecuting the case along with Crown Counsel Kevin Forde, closed the state’s case against the accused on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, lawyers in the serious bodily harm trial of Randy Jamar Codrington will on Thursday address the jury.

Codrington, of Bottom Close, Wildey, St Michael is accused of unlawfully causing serious bodily harm to Xavier Highland, on October 15, 2005, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to cause serious bodily harm to him. He is also accused of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting serious bodily harm on the same complainant – charges to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Codrington is represented by attorney-at-law Mitchell-Gittens and the state’s case is being prosecuted by Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis.
