The party on Station Hill, St Michael did not stop as overcast skies released intermittent showers on thousands of revellers chipping to the infectious soca music. The Walk Holy Band which led off the Grand Kadooment parade this morning made a brief stop in front of the District ‘A’ Police Station just after 11 a.m. to pray for the success of the Barbados Police Service in its fight against crime. Photo: Haroon Greenidge Following behind in a flurry of feathers, jewelled stones and festive colours, the Blue Box Cart, Sankofah, Adinkra, Baje International and 20 other bands were well received by members of the public who took up most of the vantage points as they eagerly watched the revellers jump, wave and wine in the country’s largest street party. Several prominent persons also took part in the festivities, including Members of Parliament Cynthia Forde, Marsha Caddle, Kirk Humphrey and Senator Dr Crystal Haynes to name a few. We are now really post-COVID, so people now get to shake that off and really get into events, especially the people that have come in from overseas.
