When the dust had settled at the Blades Hill playing field, Yellow was declared champions with their 402 points, comfortably ahead of Green on 361 points, with defending champions Red in third on 323 points. It was only the second time since 2013 that perennial winners Red did not lift the title, with the other occasion being 2020 when Green were the victors. Those who turned up were treated to a day of athletic showmanship. Despite relinquishing their title, Red still boasted of the victor ludorum and Under-13 boys’ champion in Jazari Graham, who amassed a mammoth 48 points. He triumphed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and long jump, but came second in the cricket ball throw. Meanwhile, the victrix ludorum and Under-13 girls’ champion was Lefia Armstrong of Green House with a similarly impressive 48 points. Victrix Ludorum Lefia Armstrong powering her way to victory. Armstrong told Barbados TODAY that her diet of “stew food” helped her greatly. (MR) Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
