After losing two full days in the third series of games due to bad weather, ESA Field Pickwick are eyeing a full complement of points against BCA Youth at Foursquare Oval in the fourth series of games in the 2024 BCA Elite division three-day Championship.

Resuming the day just 11 runs short of maximum batting points, Pickwick reached that target in the third over of the day before declaring at 300/7.

Rasheed Edwin picked up 7 wickets on the day for Pickwick.

The Pickwick opening bowlers wasted no time as they rocked the batters with fast bowler Jatario Prescod and left arm spinner Ajani Waterman each picking up two wickets to reduce the Youth team to 4/4 in the first four overs.

Regional U17 hero Zachary Carter, batting at number 5, was the only batsman to show any dominance over the bowlers as he scored a well played 65 in 94 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. He was the last man dismissed as they were forced to follow on, scoring 117 all out.

Off Spinner Rasheed Edwin picked 4 for 36 in 11.3 overs. Edwin came into the team as a replacement player for Bryan Charles who was chosen to replace Dwayne Bravo in the Republic Bank CPL for Trinbago Knight Riders.

In their second turn at bat, BCA Youth batted 30 overs and are 62/3. Joshua Dorne is not out on 27 while Edwin picked up all 3 wickets to fall.

Craig St Hill scored 90 not out for Wildey against UWI.

Craig St Hill led the way with a patient knock of  90 not out as Wildey surprisingly declared their innings on 224/9, denying him the chance at an Elite century vs the University of West Indies team at the 3Ws Oval.

St Hill batted for 175 balls as he and Demetrius Richards shared an 89-run partnership to push Wildey’s first innings lead to 31 runs. Leg spinner Javed Leacock picked up 3 for 48 in 18 overs.

UWI survived the remaining 13 overs of the day without losing a wicket as they ended day two on 20/0.

Playing at the Friendship playing field, Bayview Hospital YMPC are seeking to push for a victory as they hold a 211-run lead with 6 wickets in hand heading into day 3 vs IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire.

Resuming the day at 15/3 and on the back foot, number 3 batter Armani Best scored a brilliant century to lead his team to a first innings total of 184 all out. Best scored 101 runs in 138 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes.

Kevin Gittens picked up a five-fer as he bowled 14 overs and took 5 wickets for 47 runs.

In their second innings, YMPC wasted no time as they looked for quick runs to build on their 70 run first innings lead. Raymond Kellman was the top scorer with 55 in 43 balls before he retired his innings.
