According to the BMS, sustained winds of 20 to 25 knots are producing moderate to rough swells ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 metres (7 to 10 feet) across the marine area. While a slight improvement is expected over the weekend, conditions are expected to remain unsettled through Friday. Marine users, including small craft operators and beachgoers, have been urged to exercise caution, as the current swells may pose challenges to smaller vessels. The advisory is expected to remain in effect until 6 p.m. on Friday, December 5, unless conditions change. The BMS said the rough seas are being driven by a strong Atlantic high-pressure system affecting the eastern Caribbean. Marine users are encouraged to monitor official updates from the Barbados Meteorological Services, Department of Emergency Management, and the Barbados Fisheries Division, and to follow guidance from relevant authorities.
