Terry Anderson Payne of Watkins Alley, Reed Street, St Michael, pleaded guilty to stealing three boxed perfumes valued at $465, belonging to Patricia Vanessa Forde, on June 11. The No. 1 District โAโ Magistratesโ Court heard that the complainant owns a cosmetic and fashion design store which sells cosmetics, clothing, bags and other items. On the date, the accused entered the store and began looking at items on display. Forde began attending to other customers and noticed a green plastic bag moving, which aroused her suspicion. She went to investigate and made eye contact with the accused, but by the time she checked where he had gone, he had already left the store. She then checked the display, discovered that three perfumes were missing, and reported the matter. The accused was arrested the same day and confessed to stealing the items. Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick placed Payne on a six-month bond to keep the peace, warning him that if he breaches it, he will be imprisoned for three months.
