Government is moving ahead with plans to dispose of two properties from the controversial Hotels and Resorts Limited.
According to Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill, the plan was still on course to sell the Savannah Hotel in Hastings, Christ Church as well as the Blue Horizon Hotel at Rockley in the same parish.
The Minister noted that the board of directors of the Hotels and Resorts “was at an advanced stage” and was dealing with issues including property valuations for Savannah. He said government wanted to give the buyer an opportunity to expand the footprint of the hotel and he expected the matter to reach a conclusion soon.
Regarding the Blue Horizon Hotel, Gooding-Edghill said the hotel was “actually performing well”.
Peter Harris, chairman of Hotel and Resorts Limited outlined that the board was mandated to seek the best market value for Blue Horizon and ensure that it remained a going concern.
