A 25-year-old sales representative is now before the law courts facing several charges in connection with a disturbance at the Netball Stadium on Monday.

Kia Nikisha Branch of Seawing, Silver Rock, Silver Sands, Christ Church appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to the four offences.

These include that she assaulted Police Constable Andre Payne in the execution of his duty; that she resisted the police officer; that she caused a disturbance at the Netball Stadium, a public place; and that without lawful excuse, she destroyed a shirt belonging to the State intending to damage or destroy such property or being reckless as to whether it would be damaged or destroyed.

Branch, who is represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, was placed on $5 000 bail.

The matter was adjourned until November 19.
