Eight people will be discharged from the isolation facility at Harrison Point, St Lucy, today after two consecutive negative tests for COVID-19.

Among them are four of the Ghanaian nurses who arrived in the island on July 30 to assist in bolstering the nursing complement at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, district hospitals and polyclinics. Twelve of them tested positive for COVID-19 and eight remain in isolation.

Meanwhile, there were no new positives in the 215 tests performed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory yesterday.

As a result, the number of confirmed cases remains at 138 while the number of recoveries increased to 108, and those in isolation number 23.

As of yesterday, the public health laboratory completed 12,785 tests.
