As the Andrew Pollard murder case continued today, entries from a police diary were read into evidence.

Acting Inspector Nicole Forde was the last witness for the defence in the trial where Pollard stands accused of murdering Onicka Gulliver in March of 2014.  He claims that he suffered beatings for six days while in custody and that did he not make any confessions as alleged by the police.

Today, Forde read entries from the diary regarding Pollard’s report of the beatings and his identification of one of the officers during an ID parade. He identified the sole female officer he said was among those other lawmen.

In cross-examination, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale asked whether identifying a person at an ID parade determined that something happened or made them guilty. Forde replied no.

During defence lawyer Sydney Pinder’s re-examination, she said the next step was to start an investigation to establish whether the offence was actually committed.

The case continues at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the No. 2 Supreme Court.
