A Hidden Gem

Spend a night in Paris, Morocco, hang out with some of Hollywood’s Classic actors, or simply enjoy a tropical getaway, all without leaving the shores of Barbados.

This may sound like a fantasy but tucked away in the southern corner of the island, lies a gem- a Hidden Gem – the fruition of Ann-Marie Dyer’s vision.

Initially, Ann-Marie sought to create a calming space for herself and for family to stay when visiting the island, but at the prompting of others, she decided to open it to the paying public.“ I was going for the WOW Factor, but I also wanted to create an atmosphere where people feel at home, and don’t want to leave and this is even more important at this time when people seem to need positivity and a reprieve from all that is happening” says Ann-Marie. “I like to see people happy and Hidden Gem has that vibe.”

The space is an Air B and B type of luxury villa with a difference and is perfect for a staycation, a retreat, a venue for a girlfriends’ getaway or the site for a cocktail style event, the vibe is as unique as those who rent the space.

As one enters the spacious villa, the décor which blends luxurious furnishings, unique pieces and personalized touches greets guests. The space also boasts a state-of-the-art entertainment room and other details include a welcome cocktail to kick off guests’ stay.

Five ensuite, themed bedrooms include, Paris, Morocco, Classic, Tropical and Serenity, each with décor designed to bring the theme to life.

An unexpected sanctuary and welcomed treat in Inch Marlow, Christ Church, a clear view of the ocean only a few feet away provides the backdrop to lull guests into a state of relaxation courtesy of the rhythmic sound of waves while relaxing on the verandah. Soothing sounds also emit from a pond found on the approximately 5000 square foot property which also boasts a picturesque garden.

If swimming with the turtles has been a bucket list item, Hidden Gem offers that as well, with “turtles” strategically placed in the Olympic size outdoor pool, to create that effect.

Cocktail events are also possible at Hidden Gem, whether indoor or outdoor at the bar/gazebo.
Guests can reserve the entire villa or part, creating their own unique, relaxing, rejuvenating experience.
