This brings the total number of deaths from the viral illness in the island to nine. The two males were both in their 80s, and had underlying conditions. ย โOn January 19, 35 new cases of COVID-19 were recordedโ 17 females and 18 males โ out of the 902 tests done, and on January 20, 52 new positives (19 females and 33 males) were recorded out of the 2,355 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. ย These represent a combination of locals and visitors. This brings the total number of persons who have tested positive for the viral illness since March 16 to 1,243 โ 497 females and 746 males. ย Their ages ranged from 1 to 95. In the two days, 28 persons were also releasedย from isolation โ four and 24, respectively. Overall, there are now 641 active cases, and 593 persons have recovered to date.
